Alex Knox is an evil puppetmaster, who currently is an anarchist Texan cowboy (how that works out I dunno) by day and a professed female stripper by night...

Asomnia!
Well, I can't get to sleep, and I haven't written an update here in a while, so I might as well, though if anybody still reads this their level of dedication probably means they already know me well enough.

I really need to get a job. My plan for, gosh, today, is to walk up and down the street applying for jobs. I know of at least two places hiring within walking distance, so hopefully one of them will be willing to overlook my complete lack of retail experience and hire me.

I'd like to urge you, good reader, to sign up at Conspyr. If you're in Austin, the biggest benefit of this is that you'll be able to see events as! they! unfold! Today we had a barbeque. Were you there? If not, it's probably because you didn't check Conspyr and see it listed. And if you were there, you might have been confused about what to bring. Wouldn't have happened if you had gone to Conspyr and checked what folks had said they would bring. Are you our upstairs roommates and were already planning to have a barbeque? See, we would have known that if you had listed it on Conspyr.

If you're not in Austin, what's really neat about Conspyr is its ranking system. You put in your various interests, and it shows you how compatible it thinks you are with folks. This may sound kind of boring, but it keeps me fascinated for hours on end. I've put in 250 interests, actually, which I suppose is kind of sad, really. Conspyr is, by the way, made by future-roommate-Marika's brother Seth, who is a very talented man.

I still don't feel sleepy.

Okay I'm going to fill out a quiz Marika sent everybody on Myspace:

~Where were you born?: At Fort Sam hospital in San Antonio, Texas.

~Any siblings?: Yes, but she doesn't like slugs, so she hardly counts.

~Which parent do you like best?: They're both wonderful in their own way.

~How many pillows is too many?: I either like the entire bed/nest to be pillows, or I like one pillow. That way you can roll all over and take your pillow with you and fold it however you like and it's, it's just great.

~How many partners is too many?: You mean, coitus?

~So any more then that and you're a slut?: I'm just gonna go find an ATM.

~OK, how many is too many at once?: Any in excess of one person per pillow.

~Definatly a slut.: If you can't be bothered to get something as simple as a good pillow-person ratio right, then yes, yes you are a slut.

~Is there a God?: Yes.

~Is he a slut?: Yes, even though God always gets the pillow-person ratio right.

~What is treacle?: slow.

~Dogs or cats?: A good dog is far superior to even the best cat. However, there are enough yippie/bitey dogs out there that on average cats probably outweigh dogs. Because cats really just don't give a fuck. If they don't like you, they ignore you. And I like that in things.

~Sun or rain?: I used to say that I prefered rain to sun anyday, and I still love a good overcast day, and I still look down on excessive umbrella-use. But I find that a nice sunny climate is preferable to a perpetually overcast one.

~Hunter S., how did you feel about that?: Hunter did what he had to to insure that there was an article talking about Johnny Depp building a 150-foot tower in the shape of a gonzo fist from which Hunter's ashes would be shot, and I admire that.

~How about Mitch Hedburg? Do you have a good Mitch quote for me?: Mitch went too soon. Dogs are in the push-up position 24-7. That was the first Mitch quote I heard, and then I forgot who it was from, but it stuck with me, because it's hilarious. They so are!

~Do you know how to knit?: No, but I want to.

~Where in the world do you most want to live?: Part of me wants to live in Latin America, and part of me wants to live near the Mediterranean, and part of me wants to live in an isolated part of Britain, but mostly I just want to leave the US.

~Where in the world in carmen sandiego?: The clue is in her name. The whale's vagina.

~What's the sexiest musical instrument?: I love drums.

~Are you racist?: Not towards anybody important.

~Where have all the flowers gone?: They are in the lush garden that is my back-yard.

~Underware?: Boxers

~Socks.: The sort that comes at least two-fifths up your calves. Nothing in this world infuriates me so much as those bastard half-socks that barely cover your ankle.

~Btw, what ARE you wearing?: Just my boxers.

~That's hot.: Yes, actually.

~Is Paris Hilton hot?: You know I've never actually seen her

~Would you sleep with Ron Jeremy? Because i would.: We would cuddle, if that's what you mean

~Who was your favorite teacher in high school?: I don't think I really had one.

~Is it somewhat suspicious that those last two questions were consecutive? Interesting fact! Ron Jeremy originally planned to be a teacher, and has a Master's degree in special education. So no, those two made perfect sense together.

~How old were you when you had your first drink?: Gosh, 19

~Wasn't it just disgusting? Yes, yes it was

~What do you think of when you hear the word "Albania?": Elbonia, from Dilbert

~Show off. Give us a good quote.: Do I contradict myself? Then I contradict myself. I am large; I contain multitudes.

~What website should i go to when i'm done with this survey?: I know you'll go to Overheard in NY no matter what I put here.

~Does grammar count?: No it's completely unrelated to numbers (pun!)

~Does spelling count?: You can't make typos in dvork.

~Would you date someone for their money?: No, I don't think I'd be able to

~Come on. Really?: I have a very low tolerance level for people I don't like, I just don't think I could

~Fire or water?: Preferably both

~East coast or west coast?: Texas.

~Star trek or star wars?: Once upon a time I might have answered Star Wars, but then I watched all of TNG and all of the new trilogy of Star Wars, and Star Trek really is superior.

Edit! It has come to my attention that there will probably be a new Trek movie in the next few years, with an entirely new cast and ship. That could be good (they can kill anybody they want, which is nice) or bad (probably this one!)

~What is the 8th deadly sin?: Work

~Can you name the actual 7? Gluttony...greedy...sexy...ugly, sleepy, dopey, and bashful.

~Wasn't that just a great movie? It really was, and I've only seen it once. Ooh, I'll dl that once I'm done with Pirates.

~But should Brad Pitt be with Angelina or Aniston? Honestly, I don't know why you put this here. Nobody likes Jennifer Aniston, and everybody loves Angelina Jolie. Ooh, and then I'll dl Hackers.

~Ocean or mountians? I feel much better when I can see an ocean.

~If you had triplets, what would you name them? Oppurtunity, Fort, and Nick.

~Blind or Deaf, which would you chose to be? I'd be deaf, no question. I'd miss music, but I'd miss reading even more the other way.

~Ever shot a gun? I have!

~Finnish this sentence: "If wishes were horses...": We'd all eat steak.

~And finally, a free-form essay: "What I Did Over My Summer Vacation": First I was a paid hippie, then an unpaid one.

I'm still not really sleepy but I can't imagine anybody's still reading, so I'm just going to stop talking. I love you all. Parts anyway.

Edit! Note how I awesomely have given this website an icon. Next to the Url. Yep. That was me. It's an exclamation mark. Because I like to use them, you see.
